Bookkeeper and office administrator
Job Description:
A Cut Make Trim (CMT) manufacturing operation, specialising in the production of canvas products in the camping industry is looking for a Bookkeeper and Office Administrator. The individual must be able to work in a fast-paced factory environment and be flexible to occasional overtime on Saturdays.
Duties:
BOOKKEEPING
- Ensure all records are entered on Sage One Pastel accurately
- Recording of all receipts and expenditures
- Liaise with the stock controller and keep stock records up to date
- Daily recording of delivery notes and purchase orders
- Generating credit notes for non-delivery/customer returns
- Keeping all customer accounts up to date posting payments/credit notes or other adjustments. Sending monthly customer statements
- Preparation and maintenance of the company’s books of account up to balance sheet reconciliation
- Complete bank reconciliations
- Ensure debtors and creditors schedules are up to date
- Timeous invoicing of company customers and suppliers
- Timeous quotations to customers
- Assist Accountant with month-end and year-end financial reporting
- Assist Accountant in audit preparation
ADMINISTRATION
- Answering calls, transferring calls and taking messages
- Company filing and upkeep of all office and delivery documentation
- Sales support
- Maintenance of the office – ensuring the office is neat and clean at all times
- Ordering of and managing stationery
- Monitoring stock levels of all products and notifying stock controller to replenish stock
- Problem-solving with the distributors on customer orders and stock related issues
- Event coordination- planning team building activities/office lunches/dinner
- Personal assistant duties for GM and Director
- Maintaining and liaising relationships with customers
- Assisting staff members with admin duties when required
Job Requirements:
- Diploma in Bookkeeping (preferred)
- 10+ years of experience in bookkeeping or related position
- Flexible to occasional overtime in the week and on Saturdays
Skills/Attributes:
- Ability to work within an industrial environment and exert impact
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently
- Customer Relationship Management

- Salary: up to 15k based on experience (No benefits)
- Working hours: 7.30 am – 4.30 pm ( Friday 3.30 pm). Must be flexible to occasional overtime on Saturdays
